Anyone who has spent more than a few minutes with me knows I have not jumped on the social media bandwagon. In fact, I like to call myself part of the “anti-social” media. I have a presence on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. But I’m a real curmudgeon about all of it, and I’m not shy about telling people.
So imagine my surprise when I was among a small group of local businesswomen invited by the United Way of Greater Cincinnati to hear a talk byClara Shih, CEO and co-founder of Hearsay Social, a San Francisco-based firm that helps companies use social media in ways that make its customers more money. Shih was in town for meetings with Western & Southern Financial Group, and company executives there asked her to speak to a group assembled by United Way.
