Business networking site LinkedIn on Tuesday will begin featuring exclusive essays from influential “thought leaders” like Arianna Huffington, whose first post may become instantly popular just because of its headline:
“How to Sleep Your Way to the Top – Literally.”
LinkedIn has invited 150 influential people, including President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney, to post essays and other content exclusively for members of the professional social network.
This is the latest move by LinkedIn to help its bottom line by encouraging more daily activity among its 175 million members.
By tapping the minds of thought leaders, the Mountain View company is pushing its mission to make professional workers more productive. “We think that content plays a big part of it,” said Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn’s head of content products.
