Meet the Hearsay Team: Jenny Wiens, Sr. Customer Success Executive

Our “Meet the Hearsay Team” employee spotlight series offers an inside look at the awesome people who make Hearsay the best place to work. (We’ve got the hardware to prove it, too!)

This month, we sit down with Jenny Wiens from our customer success team.

What’s your role at Hearsay?

I’m on the customer success (CS) team and started at Hearsay almost five years ago, based in San Francisco. The company was about 65 people when I started and it’s been fun to see it grow and make strong relationships with both customers and fellow employees! I started off as a customer success manager, and now manage both clients and a team (player/coach role); this opportunity has been a wonderful learning experience.

What’s your favorite thing about the company?

My favorite thing about Hearsay is “the people.” That sounds cliche, but it’s true! Everyone is willing to help, add their opinions and experience, and help resolve any problem. The environments in both SF and New York are highly collaborative and I’ve made some great life-long friends who are also my colleagues.

What has been your favorite team building activity?

Because of my clients’ locations and half my team being in NY, I get a chance to be in both offices pretty regularly. My favorite NY team building activity was probably the Hudson River cruise where we were able to see the skyline and Lady Liberty from the water.

In SF, my favorite team building activity is something we call BRM, where the team gets together to fill out our CRM data during happy hour on Friday afternoons. Not only is it fun, but it’s a great time to bond and decompress after a long week. We play cat videos, have a drink and enjoy each others’ company. We were creative at BRM a couple years ago and made some guacamole with random items from the company kitchen.

What Hearsay value do you embrace the most?

I appreciate the opportunity to grow and learn at Hearsay. The company has given me opportunities to challenge myself over and over, which keeps work exciting and new. (Even after almost five years!)

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I live near Golden Gate Park and really enjoy running or biking in the park. I like to try cooking or baking new recipes during the weekend or after work during the week as well – my team receives the benefits of the baking successes. Cookies and banana bread are some favorites.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Travel the world before it’s too late. The only trip I ever regretted is the one I didn’t take.

Where would you go on a spontaneous weekend trip?

A relaxing weekend in Palm Springs sounds nice right about now since it’s been raining in SF so much. Anywhere warm would make me happy!

Recommendations for good eats and drinks in SF?

I love King of Noodles in the Sunset for a great bowl of soup – they make handmade noodles and it’s a great quick lunch or dinner (lamb noodle soup is my favorite). Anthony Bourdain likes it, too! I also enjoy a good Philz coffee (by the SF office): ecstatic iced coffee, light sugar, light almond milk.

If you could live in any country in the world, where would it be and why?

I studied abroad in Spain in college and would love to live there again. The lifestyle, history, art, tapas and vino tinto are all keys to a good life.
